LOTS of New LH Pics Below!!!

Enjoy looking at all the changes!

Here is a pic of our view in the Fall:

A few pics of the bedrooms

Here are two of the bedrooms so far - we're going to put up new artwork that we bought in the first bedroom pictured below.  We also didn't get a good shot of the third bedroom so we don't have a pic of that one!

A few more Before and After Pics

Den and space just before entering the den

AFTER (we might put french doors or something leading into the den):

Before and After Bathrooms!

I wish I had more before photos of the bathrooms because they were horrible!  Here is what I got for before of one of the bathrooms:

OK and here is after!

And here is the other bathroom (again I wish I had a true before pic prior to starting to take it apart!)

And After!

Renos inside

Here are some before and after pics of the inside of the house.

Front room before (pic from previous owners):

After:

In this space, we doubled the size of the window, re-did the floor with tiles and re-painted (and added new furniture and curtains!).

Reno at the LH!!!

Stocked up on photos from our last trip! Here are some before and afters of the back of the house!

Back of the house before:

Back of the house after:

So here are the changes - we moved the HVAC unite, re-did the deck roof and added two ceiling fans (no longer cheap/ugly aluminum - now the roofing here matches the roof), expanded the stairs to make room for sitting, added that third rectangle window between the other two rectangle windows and the door, painted and added a ceiling fan to the screened-in porch, and leveled out the deck so that there are only two levels instead of three.  We need to think of something to do with that new lattice around the stairs because it stands out so much!

A Few Changes to the LH

Unfortunately, I don't have as many before and after pics as I wished I had but here are a few that show some of the changes we did the last time we were down.

Here is a before (this brick doesn't look SO bad, but trust me, it was hideous in real life!):

We whitewashed it and now it looks like this:

SO MUCH better!!!

Here is the little garden area after we planted a few things (we didn't want to get too crazy because all of this is coming out when they re-do the deck):

And here is the garden after - that one plant totally took over!

Unfortunately, that is all of the after pics I have.  But I have one of one of the bathrooms while it was in progress.  Mom ripped out the wall paper and stucco-ed and then we painted the whole room and added all new fixtures! Looks SO good! Wish I had an after shot! I'll get one when I'm down next time!

Also wish I had an after shot of this bathroom because we really changed this a lot as well.  I'll add that when we go back in a few weeks!

Exposed Beam

Since we will be removing the wall that divides the dining room and living room areas and the ceiling heights don't quite match up for these two areas, we also discussed adding an exposed wooden beam along the new ceiling line. I love the below look and want to try to replicate it in the house! We would probably only do two exposed beams - one on the ceiling line of the kitchen and one on the newly created ceiling line of dining room to living room.

Tile Flooring

We also met with our contractor while we were out there and discussed some renovations that we want to get started on. Our contractor suggested that we opt for tile flooring in the main areas of the house as opposed to wood flooring because he said he thought it fit better with the house and how we are using it - we want minimal maintenance, a very open look and something that will withstand high heat and humidity because the temp of the house will get pretty hot when we're not there. Below are some ideas we are thinking about.

I really like this above look. However, I could see how this might be a bit much for all of the main areas of the house.
